Tribute Theme: Jussi Björling

Born in 1911 in Borlänge in the Swedish province of Dalarna, 220 km NW of Stockholm, Jussi Björling rose to world-wide fame as one of the greatest tenors of all time.

In tribute to him, Richard will be singing songs and arias Jussi Björling was renowned for, including:

  • Torna a Surriento (Come Back to Sorrento), which was amongst his very first recordings O Sole Mio
  • The Pearlfishers Duet, his best known recording. Listen to this sample on Richard's CD.

Richard will also be launching his new CD:
SAY YOU LOVE ME, and will be debuting his own new arrangement of the Pearlfishers Duet, operatic standards arranged in the "pop-opera" style by himself, and original songs.

CDs will be available at the concert.
